Smirnoff and Slip-N-Slide Records are coming together to host the 2011 Master of the Mix DJ competition. Taking place during Miami's massive Urban Beach Weekend, the competition will be held amidst a crowd of over 350,000 festival-goers. Smirnoff and Slip-N-Slide records are looking for 40 hip hop and R&B DJs from Sonicbids to make a case for themselves as master of the mix. Each DJ will have 5 minutes to perform and sway the minds of the panel of celebrity judges and record executives. The competition winner receives a recording contract with Slip-N-Slide records, a feature in The Source magazine's Unsigned Hype column, and a spot on BET's show Master of the Mix./n/nSmirnoff and Slip-N-Slide Records are coming together to host the 2011 Master of the Mix DJ competition. Each May Miami, Fl becomes the temporary home of hundreds of thousands of hip hop and R&B fans during the Urban Beach Weekend. 2010 saw over 350,000 people swarm the city and this year is expected to be as large. The competition boasts huge exposure for all DJs involved and offers a record deal, magazine feature, and BET contestant opportunity for the winner. Master of the Mix is coming soon to BET as the world's first DJ reality show. It will travel the nation searching for the top 10 best undiscovered DJs and testing their skills. It promises to be a major exposure opportunity for any star DJ. The Source magazine’s Unsigned Hype column was legendary for catapulting Notorious B.I.G. into the public eye and provides another powerful incentive to compete.
