Now in its 12th year, MEI, the Meeting of Independent Labels draws over 30,000 people, 300+ exhibitors, 400 showcases and live acts, 250 video clips as well as 150 music professionals and journalists from all over Europe. Beyond showcasing the most outstanding artists of the new Italian Music Scene, MEI hosts the MEI Music Awards, meetings, presentations and debates.

The MEI Festival 2008 will be held 28, 29 and 30 November in Faenza (Ra), Italy and will have 300 artists performing original music on 6 stages, with 3-4 stages specifically devoted to emerging artists. MEI is looking for artists in all genres from rock to world music to hip-hop.

Selected artists will all be provided with lodging and local transportation. Although you do not have to be European to be selected, MEI does not guarantee that travel expenses will be covered.

Besides a "who's who" of Italian music business, last year's MEI featured 40 delegates from the biggest European music institutions: EuroSonic (Holland), Network Europe, Popkomm (Germany), Feira de Musica Indipendente Brazil, Impala/Vut (Germany), Music Export Lithuania, Kultur Aktiv (Germany), Go Russia, Womex (Germany), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Black Lamb (Switzerland), Gotham Recs (UK), Merlin (Australia), Rockadillo Recs (Finland), and many more.

Even more, 2008's edition will feature constructive conferences and panels to strengthen the link from Italy to the rest of the world, with high profile speakers from the US, Scandinavia, UK and all over Europe.

This is THE chance to get your band in front of Italy's and Europe's most important music buyers!
