Artists will be compensated a minimum of $250 Canadian, as well as any residuals for broadcasts. Also, the producer will edit a music video tied to the film for any selected artists.

They require music for a poet's open mic night in a bohemian bar, a nightclub/ bar, and radio play during the film. They’re looking for female oriented, soft music. However, there is a bar scene where hard rock or dance music will be considered.

They intend to premiere the film at select film festivals worldwide, and already have screening contracts with several theatres, and interest from a couple of specialty (Canada) TV networks. The film contains sexual inuendo, drug and alcohol use, but no nudity.

The selected artists will keep all publishing rights to the music, and will be included on a soundtrack CD to be made available contingent with the release of the film. We are also planning a "making of" documentary for the DVD and possible broadcast. SOCAN will pay artists royalties for all TV, and radio broadcasts. The royalties from the soundtrack CD will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

They have signed a Gemini nominated director (Canada's Oscars), and a multi-award winning cinematographer to work on the film. If you are able to get to the Ottawa (Ontario, Canada) area, there are opportunities to appear as extras, or (in the poet scene) performing onstage. As well, there is opportunity to be in the documentary, both performing and interview.

Terms And Conditions

By submitting music samples to the producers, you agree that there are only so many musical styles and themes, and that other bands may possess a similar sound or explore similar themes.

You agree not to hold the producers liable, should music which appears in the soundtrack of the film seem similar in style, presentation or theme to music you submitted for consideration.

Regardless of what may be discussed in negotiations, you agree to be held by the final contract between the producers and your self/ band, should your music be chosen for the film.

You will read the contract thoroughly and ask questions PRIOR
to signing it.
