More than just a play on words, M for Montreal is a festival that presents ‘export ready’ Canadian artists internationally, through a series of highly produced showcases in Montreal and around the world. They will be taking submissions via Sonicbids for performance consideration at their sponsored events leading up to M for Montreal, known as "mini-M's". Artists selected to perform will receive $250 CAD and at least 1 Sonicbids band will be invited to perform../n/nMore than just a play on words, M for Montreal is a festival that presents ‘export ready’ artists internationally, through a series of highly produced showcases in Montreal and around the world. M for Montreal provides a unique 'window on the world' for artists all over Canada.

Artists selected to perform will receive $250 CAD and at least 1 Sonicbids band will be invited to perform. Submissions are open to Canadian artists only.

For Canadian acts to truly create economically viable careers, they have no choice but to secure success outside our territorial borders. At a time when the music industry is in a free fall and the federal government is cutting essential international cultural programs such as Trade Routes and Promart, M for Montreal’s work is more important than ever. As Robert Lepage once said, "that which is profoundly local is international."
