Legendary Middle of the Map Fest returns again this year to Kansas City. This incredible Festival hosts more then 250 bands, over 6,000 attendees and is looking for 8 Sonicbid's Artists to join them. Selected acts will be compensated a minimum of $100.
The Opportunity
Middle of the Map Fest aims to bring world class entertainment to Kansas City. Over the last 4 years they have hosted more then 250 emerging, local and national bands. It takes places at 6 venues across the midtown area of Kansas City with about 6,000 total in attendance.
The festival is put on by The Record Machine and Ink Magazine/inkkc.com. The Record Machine, established in 2003, is a homegrown independent record company based in Kansas City. Ink Magazine is Kansas City's premier lifestyle and entertainment publication and website. Owned by The Kansas City Star, Ink Magazine is supportive of local musicians and events.
The Band
- Primarily booking acoustic, alternative, americana, avant-garde, electronic, folk, hip hop/rap, pop, punk, rock, singer/songwriter
- Bands are responsible for own travel/accommodations
The Gig
Details:
- Sets are 30-45 minutes
- Shows are at both indoor and outdoors venues
- Drum kit provided (but no hardware)
- Professional sound and engineer provided
- Artists compensated at least $100, more if traveling long distances
- Artists keep 100% of merchandise sales
- Food/drink provided
