Summary

Since its debut in 1997 as a winter event, the Millennium Music Conference has grown into one of the premier music conferences and showcases on the East Coast. In 2006 the conference will be held June 22-24 at the Crowne Plaza in Harrisburg, PA.

The tenth annual showcase and symposium celebrates new music and emerging talent with three nights of showcases by original acts and artists. In 2005 MMC9 hosted over 300 acts and artists on 25 stages at Harrisburg area live music venues. Over 200 Sonicbids artists were selected to showcase; 18 of 33 songs on the MMC9 Compilation CD were from Sonicbids submissions. Over 90% of the selected acts are unsigned and independent artists - and most all genres are given the opportunity to showcase. In June 2006 showcases will not be limited to traditional venues. Several venues, including the Crown Plaza stages, will be all ages and an acoustic stage will be featured at the Crowne Plaza during the daytime business sessions. In 2005 over half of the showcase venues were within walking distance of the Crown Plaza along North Second Street in downtown Harrisburg.

The event will also feature three days of panels, clinics, workshops, keynotes, mentoring & demo listening sessions and a music business trade show. Music industry professionals attend as panelists, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts to network, do business and share their experience with our registrants. All showcasing musicians receive credentials for the events at the Crowne Plaza on the day of their showcase. Members of acts that submit qualify to register for $55.00 until June 8, 2006 to attend the rest of the conference.

MMC10 will create an exciting and valuable platform for new talent to be seen and heard. Showcasing your act and networking with other showcasing acts and music industry professionals in the unique conference environment could be integral to your career advancement.
You could also learn to party like a rock star! Notifications begin on April 7 and continue until complete. Some early selections will be made by the conference director in mid-January, February and March.
