Summary

MNB Week 2006 is shaping up to be one of the biggest music industry events in New Brunswick, Canada. Taking place May 18th to May 21st, 2006 in Edmundston, NB, MNB Week 2006 has been constructed to help new and experienced artists develop both their business and artistic career skills. This opportunity is open only to artists born in NB or currently a resident of NB.



The event will be one of the best platforms in New Brunswick for discovering new talent and supporting our international artists. There will be between 24-48 artists performing throughout the event. All of the showcase spots for this year’s event will take place under one roof at the brand new Chateau Edmundston Hotel and Convention Center. Artists from all genres - Alternative/Metal, World, Classical, Country, Jazz/Blues/Folk/Rock, Urban/Hip-Hop, and Roots/Traditional and others - are given the opportunity to be seen and heard by some of today’s most influential international music industry professionals.



MNB Week 2006 will be filled with professional development programming that will include panels headed by industry experts designed to keep music professionals current on important topics, demo critique sessions and one-on-one meetings with national and international delegates, and development series seminars on topics critical to all levels of music industry professionals. MNB Week 2006 is also a unique opportunity to showcase and meet major national and international music industry professionals face-to-face. In addition, MNB Week 2006 will include an opening Gala Ceremony, trade show exhibits, an industry brunch, a songwriter’s circle, a silent auction, workshops and seminars, an abundance of exclusive networking opportunities with music industry professionals from Canada, the United States and Europe and music, music, music!

Terms And Conditions

General Information:
The Music New Brunswick Week (M.N.B.W.) showcase stages allow New Brunswick acts the opportunity to perform for a target audience of music industry professionals including record label representatives, talent buyers, managers, and media.
Selections for all showcase stages are juried by a group of up to five (5) music industry professionals. Consideration will be given to current industry trends, growth, and availability of the artist.
Music/Musique NB (MNB) reserves the right to solicit stage applications when required. Where a M.N.B.W. showcase is broadcast, MNB may partner with representatives of the broadcaster in soliciting artists/groups. Artists/groups may be invited to perform on multiple stages.
Receipt of submitted applications will be confirmed by email and/or phone.

Eligibility
This opportunity is open to all New Brunswick performers from solo act to full band providing that:

o At least 50% of the band members must be born in New Brunswick or must a resident of N.B. since January 1st, 2005.
o All performances during the MNB Week Showcase will be with a live band / live musicians except artists in the Urban ( rap, hip-hop ) Category
o All music performed during the MNB Week Showcase will be original New Brunswick music or music not previously released by other artists except in the Classical Category
o All selected showcase artists / groups must register for the Music New Brunswick Week Conference.

In Addition, we require the following information:

o Performance availability ( dates and times ) during the weekend.
o Stage plot and technical requirements
o *50-word biography of the artist / band ( reprinted for promotional purposes in the MNB Week Program, Website, etc )
o *Photo of the artist / band ( prefer paper AND electronic submission )

* NOTE: We encourage all artists/bands to submit their 50-word bio and photo in electronic format ( on disk, CD, etc ). Please make sure that the 50-word bio is in text format, and that the photo is high resolution ( Format: jpg, tif or eps ; Resolution Minimum : 300 dpi ; Size : 3X4, 3X5 or 4X6 )
