Summary

Chicago’s MOBfest 2013 (Music Over Business Festival) is set for 2 nights AUG 9th and AUG 10th, 2013 in Chicago's historic Wicker Park Neighborhood. Heading into its seventeenth year, MOBfest will celebrate 2 nights of showcases and a music industry panel. The famous Six Corners intersection of North Ave And Damen in Wicker Park Chicago, will be transformed into the ultimate showcase location where 3 showcase slots are reserved for Sonicbids members.

August 9-10, 2013, MOBfest 2013 will feature two evenings of showcases and industry parties. During the two-day event, bands can showcase their music in front of a distinguished group of industry executives giving young, unsigned bands the opportunity to play for a greater number of big wigs ranging from brand marketing specialists, advertising executives, managers, record label representatives and new fans, all looking to discover the next cool band to work with and support.

MOBfest has a proven track record of helping to launch artists. Past MOBsters include: The Killers (Island Def/Jam), Disturbed (Giant Reprise), Rachael Yamagata (RCA), Absentstar (Columbia), Assassins (Arista), The Redwalls (Capitol) and Kill Hannah (Atlantic). MOBfest helps start the buzz, build relationships and close the deals.

Previous attendees include Island Def Jam records, Atlantic Records, EMI Marketing, Midway Games, Roadrunner Records, Kurt Smith from Tears For Fears and many more.

MOBfest, Chicago’s preeminent music festival came to life in the summer of 1997 with the help of some of Chicago’s most influential music and industry players. MOBfest was founded by Roger Jansen of KMA Management, one of Chicago’s top artist management companies.
