Summary

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in North Miami, FL, is currently accepting submissions for their Battle of the Bands. On three separate evenings, bands will be invited to perform free outdoor concerts at MOCA. Each evening's winner will receive:



  • A new Epiphone Guitar

  • Two hours of recording time at Jam Studios

  • A meeting with former VP of PR for Universal Music

  • The opportunity to sell their record in the MOCA giftshop



    The Battle of the Bands is open to any unsigned, original musical acts residing in South Florida who are over the age of 18. All genres are welcome to submit an entry.



    All submissions will be heard by the Battle of the Bands judging panel, made up of representatives from MOCA, Sweat Records and Jam Rock Studio. The best 16 bands will then be invited to play at the Battle of the Band showcase which will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in N. Miami during the run of exhibition “Sympathy for the Devil: Art of Rock and Roll since 1967” from May 31 – September 8, 2008. There will be 3 nights of competition taking place June 26, July 24, and August 28, 2008, and each night the winner’s will be judged by the audience.
