The Montauk Music Festival is hosting a summer music series at one of the festival sites, the Gigshack. They are currently searching for artists in all genres to perform. They are currently searching for artists in all genres to perform. A minimum of one Sonicbids artist will be selected to perform at the Gigshack.
The music series will occur every week at the Gigshack, a 80 capacity venue in the center of Montauk. Bands will receive dinner and are welcome to sell merchandise and put out a tip jar. Sound and lighting will be provided by the venue. Selected artists will not only perform for the showcase, but they will also have a chance to be booked elsewhere in Montauk and at the 2011 Montauk Music Festival.
The First Annual Montauk Music festival took place from May 13-16. This four day festival featured music ranging from classic rock to jazz to blues to rap and country from over 75 bands and singer/songwriters that performed over 115 shows. These shows took place at about 25 different Montauk restaurants and venues. This years festival featured artists such as the Lawrence Cooley Band, The Giving Tree Band and Urban Sun.
