The 54th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival will host over 500 artists on 8 stages for 3 nights and 2 days of the world's best jazz.

Compensation for selected artists can be up to $5,000, depending on the artist. Last year's performers included Chick Corea, Marcus Roberts Trio, Dianne Reeves, Angelique Kidjo, Harry Connick, Jr., Kronos Quartet and more./n/nThe 54th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival will will take place September 16-18, 2011 at the Monterey Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. The festival hosts over 500 artists on 8 stages for 3 nights and 2 days of the world's best jazz, spread throughout the Festival's 20 acres of magnificent grounds. This year, the festival will be held on September 16th to 18th, 2011, and will host some of the most talented jazz musicians, such as last year's performers that included Chick Corea, Marcus Roberts Trio, Dianne Reeves, Angelique Kidjo, Harry Connick, Jr., Kronos Quartet and more.




About the Gig:


The Monteray Jazz Festival is looking for up and coming artists with a fresh style to perform live at the festival. Ideally, selected artists would be based in the western United States. Pay for selected artists can be up to $5,000, depending on the artist. All sound equipment will be provided at the festival.


About the Festival:


The Monterey Jazz Festival is the longest running jazz festival in the world and takes place annually at the oak-studded Monterey Fairgrounds. Outdoor areas include the Arena/Jimmy Lyons Stage, the Garden Stage, and the Courtyard Stage. Indoor areas include Lyons Lounge, the Night Club/Bill Berry Stage, Dizzy's Den, The Jazz Theater, and the Coffee House Gallery. All five Arena concerts are simulcast in The Jazz Theater and in Klub Korbel.
