The Montreal International Reggae Festival is a three-day action-packed event that showcases over 100 artists/performers from Canada and around the world. It features mostly live Reggae, as well as certain R&B, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Rock, Jazz, Latin, and World beat performances. This event is not limited to music; it also includes the visual arts, poetry, and dance. Reggae festivals around the world are known for their incredible community support and rapid growth. With an exciting national and international artist line-up, tremendous community involvement and support, and a great Montreal location at the Old Port, the festival promises to be the most inspired event of Montreal for years to come. This year's event will take place July 13-15.

Last year, 24,000 people attended the festival. This year, over 30,000 people are expected to attend.

The international reggae music and culture scene is as forceful as it is unique in its many multi-cultural influences. Reggae Music is everybody’s music. This project is about uniting people under the reggae culture, developing Canadian artistic activity, and promoting positive aspects of the entertainment industry. The Montreal International Reggae Festival seeks to promote positive artists in a mainstream media outlet each year. When one thinks of the Canadian music scene, we want them to remember a unique and fresh multicultural scene.

Previous performers include Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Luciano, Morgan Heritage, Yellowman, Coco Tea, Freddie McGregor, Junior Reid and Half Pint, just to name a few.

The Montreal International Reggae Festival takes an innovative and revolutionary approach to displaying and uniting diversified artists in a mainstream venue. The Festival strives to increase awareness of the powerful message of "unity" behind reggae music and culture in Canada and abroad, assist artists in gaining exposure both nationally and internationally, foster positive attitude, racial and religious harmony, as well as a greater understanding and appreciation of our unique multicultural society.

Artists are invited to submit their EPK. The festival will focus mainly (90%) on reggae performances.
