Summary

The Morden Corn and Apple Festival originated as a community celebration for Canada's Centennial in 1967 and has grown into one of the largest street festivals in Manitoba, attracting over 50,000 people to enjoy three days of activity-packed fun over the 4th weekend in August every year. Compensation starting at $500 is offered to all selected performers and ccts that travel in from long distances receive travel compensation and hotel accommodation./n/nThe Morden Corn and Apple Festival originated as a community celebration for Canada's Centennial in 1967 and has grown into one of the largest street festivals in Manitoba, attracting over 50,000 people to enjoy three days of activity-packed fun over the 4th weekend in August every year. They are seeking artists to be one of 12 acts to perform on the main stage, which is located on the corner of 8th St. and Stephen St. in Morden and attracts over 4,000 people.


Submitting artists will be considered for the August 2011 festival, as this year is booked. Compensation starting at $500 is offered to all selected performers. Acts that travel in from long distances receive travel compensation and hotel accommodation. The festival's hospitality staff takes care of every artist and there are dressing rooms, green room, security, stage manager, backline with technician, plus sound and lighting systems complete with operators.


Past performing artists include Colin James, Randy Bachman, Crystal Shawanda, The Wilkinsons, Prairie Oyster and in 2010, Del Castillo.




Submitting artists will not be considered until November 2010.
