Detroit has always been a lightening rod for kick ass rock and roll. From Motown and the MC5 to Eminem, Kid Rock and The White Stripes – nothing compares to Detroit Rock City.



Drawing on Detroit's rich musical history that continues to captivate the world – the second annual Motor City Music Conference (MC2) - to be held September 13-17, 2006 - will bring music industry professionals, musicians, and music fans together for showcasing, networking, career development, media exposure, promotional opportunities and more. Over 400 bands from around the world will showcase in 40+ Detroit venues, including the Hard Rock Café, Alvin's, St. Andrew's Hall, The Shelter, Small's, 313 Jac, Fifth Avenue Billiards and many more. There are at least 25 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists (over 250 Sonicbids bands were selected to play last year). MC2 will also include 3 days of music industry/A&R panels and music and lifestyle vendors.



Artists who submit early will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with final notifications at the end of March. Selected artists will receive 1 Platinum Registration per band in addition to wristbands for each band member. MC2 will also provide two additional wristbands for selected bands' crew members.



Past performers include Moby, The Black Keys, Detroit Cobras, The Dirt Bombs, Proof (D12), Paul Westerberg, Snoop Dogg, Crud and Derrick May.
