MTT Fest 2013

MTT Fest is pleased to announce that Calgary’s foremost psychedelic music & arts festival will be returning for its second year April 11-13, 2013. After a successful inaugural festival in 2012, MTT Fest is expanding in 2013 to include a program of visual art exhibitions, panel discussions & workshops in addition to live music all day and night from a diverse line up of international, regional & local musicians. MTT Fest will fill up to 10 slots with artists who submit online through Sonicbids! Bands will be provided the opportunity to perform to music fans from around the world who will be making the trip to Calgary. Selected acts will be compensated at least $100, but details will be negotiated upon booking. They will also receive festival passes & an artist package.

MTT Fest is happy to welcome legendary music industry figure Joe Foster as festival curator. Foster has produced records for bands such as Jesus & Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, was one of the co-founders of the influential UK label Creation Records, and has been involved in so many other musical projects it would be impossible to list them all here. MTT Fest is beyond excited to soon unveil his choices for MTT Fest 2013, most of whom have never played in Calgary before.

Last year's MTT Fest performers included: Sonic Boom, Dean & Britta, Sun Araw, Matthewdavid, Cheval Sombre, Julia Holter, Mac Demarco, Damo Suzuki, M Geddes Gengras, Diva, The Famines & more. The festival gained world wide recognition, and attracted over 2500 music fans between the ages of 16 – 65. The Calgary Herald wrote that MTT Fest “featured an incredible roster of talent" while Exclaim! Magazine wrote “MTT Fest features an impressive mix of out-of-town and local outfits."

Please Note: Touring artists will have to provide their own travel and lodging accommodations, though some billeting will be provided.
