Music City Roots: Live at the Loveless Cafe

Music City Roots is committed to providing a world-wide platform for great music to be discovered and enjoyed. Selected emerging artists are given the opportunity to play live on the same bill with some of the world’s finest musicians, with their performance promoted and broadcast to a global audience. Music City Roots is presented live every Wednesday from the event barn behind the famous Loveless Cafe, with top-notch audio and video production. Emerging artists play a 10-minute segment, and are also invited to participate in an end of show jam. Selected artists will be booked for the Spring 2013 season.

At least one Sonicbids artist will be chosen to perform at the show. The broadcast is vigorously promoted over multiple media outlets, generating enormous publicity. Selected artists can expect:

• At least $100
  
• A good sound-check and a great performance environment.
  
• Hi-definition video-cast and HD DVD to take home
  
• 100% of individual merch sales at venue.
  
• Enormous media attention and publicity

The vision of the show’s producers is to shine a light on quality music of all kinds. While the mission of the show is to break down walls of "genres" and "categories," the general theme is to feature styles that emerged from the roots of American culture, with an emphasis on Tennessee: Country, Bluegrass, Folk, Jazz, Blues, R&B and Gospel. In the true spirit of a global platform, World roots music is also welcomed, especially when there is a connection to the origins of the music born in the Americana culture.

Last season, Sonicbids band Harpeth Rising was chosen to perform live at the popular American culture edition of Music City Roots. .

Previous emerging artists have shared the bill with Emmylou Harris, Nanci Griffith, Sam Bush, Cherryholmes, Steve Kimock, The Emmitt-Nershi Band, Radney Foster, Jim Lauderdale and Cowboy Jack Clement. Previous emerging artists have included The Quebe Sisters Band, Donna Ulisee, Caitlin Rose, The Black Lillies, Jonny Corndawg, Angela Easterling, Christabel and the Jons, Angel Snow, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Green On The Vyne, Chris Volpe, The Believers, Sugarcane Jane, The Dirt Daubers and more!
