Entries are accepted in multiple genre categories and runners-up will have their songs at a "Red Ridge Night" event in Nashville./n/nThis year, Red Ridge Entertainment is proud to present the Music City Song Contest: Session 5, a Nashville-based competition open to both amateur and professional songwriters worldwide. Entries will be judged on originality as well as compositional, lyrical, and melodic content; therefore a professional recording is not necessary. Songs are open to the following categories: acoustic, adult contemporary, alternative, Americana, bluegrass, blues, Broadway, cabaret, contemporary Christian, country, folk, funk, jazz, Latin, pop, rock, singer-songwriter, and standards (no instrumental compositions).


Entries will be judged by Red Ridge Entertainment, as well as an additional panel of music industry professionals. One Sonicbids artist will be selected as a Grand Prize Winner to receive a fully-produced, radio-ready professional recording of their song performed on by some of Nashville’s top session musicians ($2,000 value), one free night’s lodging at a Nashville hotel (travel not included) for out of town winners, a complimentary lunch for two at a local Nashville fine dining establishment, and an opportunity to have their song performed live at one of Red Ridge Entertainment’s monthly "Red Ridge Nights" in Nashville, TN. Two additional Sonicbids artists will be selected as runner-ups and awarded an opportunity to have their songs performed live at one of Red Ridge Entertainment’s monthly "Red Ridge Nights" in Nashville, TN.

The company has produced theme songs for TV shows, as well as jingles for major companies like Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. They’ve recorded albums for “Star Search” and “You Can Be a Star” winners, and most recently teamed up with P-K Pictures to produce up-and-coming country artist, Chris Webb’s debut video single, “Shade Tree.”

  • Session 3 - Ben Krahne (of California) and Mike Daniels (of Pennsylvania) and their song “Slipping Away From Him.” Mike says, “What a great job on the recording!”

  • Session 4 - Steven Strobel and Rob Wolf (of Franklin, TN) and their song “Another Whiskey Morning.” Steven says, “Gary was awesome...we got a remarkable full band demo of our song "Another Whiskey Morning"... just an amazing experience. Thanks Gary!”
