MusicfestNW 2005

With the departure from Portland, Oregon, of the North By Northwest music festival (NXNW), Willamette Week, Portland’s Pulitzer Prize-winning alternative newsweekly and longtime co-producer of NXNW, teamed up with members of the local and regional music scene to create a new, non-profit, music festival in 2001: MusicfestNW. The goal was to create a festival, made by and for the Northwest music community that would be at once vital and commercially viable. The first four years of the annual September festival has made MusicfestNW synonymous with the region's best music and live music venues.



MusicfestNW 2005 will take over Portland September 8, 9 & 10. Fans get to experience musical brilliance and diverse genres with Indie rock, hip-hop, bluegrass, alt-country, electronica, DJs, gospel, tribute bands, prepubescent rock, rollicking street performers and everything in between! Last year's attendance was over 16,000!



There are ten slots reserved for Sonicbids members. Bands playing the festival will receive $100, one (1) wristband for each band member, access to the Artist Lounge during the festival and any other perks we can wrangle.



The community benefits where it counts most: in our kids, through First Octave’s (MusicfestNW’s charity partner and recipient of proceeds) progressive public-school music education program. MusicfestNW is sponsored by Willamette Week, Comcast, Budweiser, Bulleit, Tattoo and Sonicbids.
