Music for the Cure is a benefit event held in Halifax, Nova Scotia which supports breast cancer research throughout Canada and around the world. The event will be held at the Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites on March 6th, 2009. Music for the Cure was founded by Halifax, Nova Scotia singer/Songwriter Sheva with the support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) Atlantic Region. As a performer she felt it necessary to support breast cancer research and spread hope through her music. This is one of a number of events that will be held throughout Canada and the US to raise money. 100% of the ticket sales will be donated to the CBCF.

Music for the Cure is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artists for general performance consideration. They are looking to book 7 artists from genres including adult contemporary, pop, rock, singer/songwriter, country, rap and acoustic. As a non-profit event, there is no set performance budget for artists, however travel and hotel costs "may" be arranged if out-of-town artists are selected. In addition, all artists are encouraged to sell their CD's and merchandise throughout the entire event. Past sponsors include Musicstop, C100FM, Ideal Mortgage, TD Canada Trust, The Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites, F6 Design, just to name a few. This year's sponsors will be announced early in the new Year!
