Music in the Air books primarily Latin American, Folk, Jazz and World music. They do accept additional genres, but only from local artists. Submitting artists should have two to three live recordings to submit for performance consideration.

There are three main yearly series for Music in the Air: Rhythm on the River, Short North Sunday Jazz, and The Motorists Insurance Group Topiary Garden Concerts.

Rhythm on the River music series, held on select Fridays in July & August, is held in the Downtown-Riverfront Amphitheater. Come downtown for a diverse collection of performances featuring music and dance under the stars. Set against the glittering skyline of Columbus, the Riverfront Amphitheater comes alive each summer with talented musicians and dancers.

Short North Sunday Jazz music series is presented by Smooth Jazz WJZA at Goodale Park Gazebo. The series is held Sundays at noon through July and August. Audience members are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the best in local jazz.

The Motorists Insurance Group Topiary Garden Concerts are held Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. throughout July and August. The concerts are held at the Topiary Garden/Deaf School Park in Columbus. Step outside and take a break with upbeat music amidst the trees and topiaries.
