Summary

Muzak Music is the worlds leading provider of music for businesses, serving more than 500,000 client locations. In support of its Heart & Soul Foundation, Muzak is seeking tracks from Sonicbids bands for its Metro (Indie Electronica), Destinations (Global Pop), and Nu Lounge (Lounge) programs.

Muzak's programs are played in big cities, small towns and everywhere in between. From top retail, restaurant and hospitality brands to the local mom-and-pops and convenience stores, Muzak reaches a broad and diverse base of listeners, providing a unique and powerful forum for people to experience music. Chances are youve shopped in a store or eaten at a restaurant today where Muzak's music was playing. With 100 million listeners per day, what better way to build familiarity for your music, not to mention generate an additional revenue stream?

Unlike other broadcast outlets, Muzak's program content isnt driven primarily by charts, album sales and call-out research. The music lineup includes hundreds of "core" and custom programs, each designed to reflect the brand personality of a business and appeal to the lifestyle of their customers. This allows Muzak to use music from major and independent labels, as well as off-label artists who might be overlooked by radio altogether.

In an effort to raise funds to support the Muzak Heart & Soul Foundation mission of "redefining music education," Muzak is looking for emerging artists for the following programs:

Metro: Indie Electronica

Downtown cool for urban sophisticates and the fashion-conscious crowd. Metro's sounds and rhythms are personal, intelligent and always in step with what's really happening in the big city. This program draws from the worlds of trip-hop, electronica, underground pop and R&B. Music should be Upbeat, Fun, Global, Sexy, Contemporary.

This program is typically used in Salons, restaurants, coffee shops, clothing retail. Sample artists include Mark Brown, Sarah Cracknell, Black Ghosts, Bitter:Sweet, Kevin Yost, Underworld, Sam Sparro, Fred Everything, Lisa Shaw, and Yppah.

Destinations: Global Pop

Embraces the diversity of music from around the world. From Africa to South America, Europe to Latin America and all points in between, "Destinations" is a musical journey to the four corners of the globe. Music should be Global, International, Funky, Bouncy, Fun, Eclectic.

This program is typically used in Salons, spas, yoga studios, health stores, import shops, coffee shops, import clothing retail, restaurants and bars. Sample artists include Constance Amiot, DJ Dolores, Toots and The Maytals, Sonantes, Mapumba, Salmonella Dub, 2raumwohnung, and Niyaz.

Nu Lounge: Lounge

A mellow, downtempo mix that encompasses the trends of the laid-back lounge scene, NuLounge is flavored with music from all over the globe. This program reflects a cool, eclectic sense of the hip lounge culture. Songs are Sexy, Sophisticated, Smooth, Hip, Eclectic, Lounge, International.

This program is typically used in Exclusive cafes, chic neighborhood lounges, large university coffee shops and hotels. Sample artists include Jaffa, Royksopp, Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra, Christophe Goze, Tosca, Bluprint , Freedub, Soulstance, Tape Five, and Julia Tarassov.
