Mountain View Music Fest 2009

The Mountain View Music Festival is hosted at a large central park in the heart of Carstairs, Alberta- only 35 minutes north of Calgary Alberta. Every year since its inception in 2006, the festival has more than doubled in size. In 2008 Mountain View featured over 30 acts and with more than 3000 people in attendance. This year’s festival is already getting worldwide interest from artists and attendees alike.

Most genres are accepted at the fest with particular focus on folk, and roots based music. Mountain View programs the fest in such a way that most genres will be represented to show the audience a full spectrum of artistic expression.



Compensation will be a minimum of $500 CAD for artists selected to play. Mountain View is a not for profit society, and it is difficult to guarantee an artist's usual fee. However, being artists themselves, Mountain View is fair with what funds are available. Selected artists are also treated as honored guests and have an oasis to relax and be pampered in between acts. Limited lodging is available but camping is an option for a band that is traveling through Canada.



The Mountain View Music Fest is truly a grassroots festival. People of all ages are welcome to attend this family friendly event. There have been several local sponsors every year that make the event possible. Mountain View is proud to announce this year's Daimond Sponsor: Big Rock Brewery.
