myAWOL is an online community that brings together musicians, promoters, and all around music lovers in one space, allowing them to share opportunities and ideas for mutual gain. Its provides extensive benefits for musicians by creating a supportive environment where artists can make and promote their music, connect with people who want to discover talent in any genre, and also connect with valuable industry insiders that can help further develop their talent .


Currently, myAWOL is seeking Sonicbids artists to perform at BritWeek’s music showcase in Los Angeles. The annual event is the brainchild of Nigel Lythgoe, president of 19 Entertainment (American Idol, Carrie Underwood, Amy Winehouse) and seeks to celebrate fifty years of British links with Los Angeles and highlight the current relationship. The music portion of Brit week will feature 3 showcases, one at The Nokia Center in Los Angeles with Duran Duran, one at the Virgin Megastore with Kate Nash and the final one at Molly Malone’s in South Fairfax. Two spots will be reserved exclusively for Sonicbids members in the final showcase, scheduled to take place place on Friday May 9th.


Although there is no direct compensation for the performance, artists will be reimbursed for travel costs and offered accommodations. Furthermore, artists will benefit from the fact that the event is sure to be filled with very influential music industry people as well as a great crowd of enthusiastic music fans.

This opportunity is open to all artists in the continental United States.
