Summary

Going into its eighth year, NEMO Music Festival & Conference is one of North America’s premier music industry events. NEMO is three nights of music, featuring almost 250 artist showcases and the prestigious Boston Music Awards, two full days of panels, workshops, clinics and a trade show. NEMO will take place September 30- October 2, 2004 in Boston, a city renowned for being a hotbed of new talent and for breaking new acts. NEMO’s showcases are held at more than 25 venues including the Paradise, Axis, Avalon, Middle East, TT the Bears, Roxy, Kendall Café, Club Passim, Bill’s Bar.



NEMO is the forum for musicians, industry professionals and music enthusiasts who want to explore the most up-to-date, current information and critical issues confronting today’s music industry. Attracting almost 2,000 registrants, NEMO provides topical and in-depth panels geared toward all aspects of the industry. Panelists include high-profile representatives from record labels, Internet music companies, managers, booking agents, publishers, retailers, artists and much more.



NEMO at night is all about the live music showcases. Almost 250 bands at all levels of development jam 25 of Boston’s best clubs for 3 nights. From rock to hip-hop, folk to R&B, blues to country, and everything in between, NEMO’s got it covered. So if music is what you love and the business of music is what you live, NEMO is the place to be.



NEMO also offers performance clinics, a mentor program, an acoustic stage, and a trade show featuring exhibitors from an array of companies in the music, media, online and retail industries displaying the latest products, services, gear, and new technologies.



Highlights from past NEMO showcases include performances by Aerosmith (in a club that held 500 lucky fans), Godsmack, Linkin Park, Staind, Kristin Hersh, De La Soul, Superdrag, Guster, Dope, Splender, Fishbone, Catie Curtis, The Union Underground, The Waifs, Rubyhorse, Howie Day, Kittie, 5440, Melissa Ferrick, Joey McIntyre, Martin Sexton, Tracy Bonham, Emm Gryner, Reveille, Kevin Salem ,The Exies, Ellis Paul, Must, Bill Morrissey, Ra, and many more.
