NEMO Music Festival 2006

Charging into its tenth year, the NEMO Music Festival is one of North America's premier music industry events. NEMO is three days of music, featuring almost 300 artist showcases, two full days of panels, workshops, clinics and a music industry trade show. NEMO will take place September 28 - September 30, 2006 in Boston, a city renowned for being a hotbed of new talent with artists like Ray LaMontagne, The Click 5, Akrobatik, Killswitch Engage, and legendary for breaking acts; such as The Police, U2, The Pixies, Gavin DeGraw.



Almost 2,500 people attend the NEMO Conference: Panelists include major label representatives, managers, publishers, retailers, artists, booking agents, and much more. The Conference also offers performance clinics, ten-minute mentoring, an acoustic stage, and an outdoor stage. Some of the brightest and most talented people in the music business will be at NEMO to share their knowledge, showcase their talents, and most importantly - have a great time. All accepted showcasing artists receive complimentary NEMO Music Festival Badges.



When the sun sets, NEMO's nearly 300 showcasing artists take stages at over 25 of the best clubs in Boston and Cambridge, to remind industry insiders and music fans (almost 15,000 of them) what NEMO is really about; playing and hearing great music. From rock to hip-hop, folk to r&b, blues to country, and everything in between, NEMO's got it covered. NEMO's showcases have been held at venues including the Paradise, Axis, Avalon, Middle East, TT the Bears, Roxy, Harper's Ferry, Club Passim Folk and Cultural Center, Bill's Bar and numerous others through out Boston and Cambridge. This year's NEMO showcase submissions will be taken exclusively through Sonicbids.



Artists who submit to NEMO that have cafe-friendly music are automatically eligible to enter the NEMO Music Makers Competition (NMMC) presented by Starbucks. You will be prompted about this during the submission process. BMI is awarding the Finalist of the NMMC hotel and airfare to attend the Kauai Music Festival. KMF is one of the country's premier celebrations of songwriting, featuring the best songwriters in America. The four-day festival offers educational opportunities in the form of seminars with Grammy winning producers and industry professionals, as well as performances by award winning songwriters.
