Summary
NewMusicWest is a chance for emerging new artists and bands to showcase their talents to some of the top industry professionals in North America and around the world. Once a year, Vancouver is swarming with large numbers of Managers, Publicists, Label Reps, A&R, Media, and all sorts of music folk. The 16th annual NewMusicWest will be held May 2 - 6, 2007 at more than 20 venues around Vancouver - with more than 200 showcase slots available. Past event performers include Matthew Good, The Flaming Lips, Liz Phair, Nickelback, Hot Hot Heat, Sam Roberts, My Morning Jacket, Stars and The Lowest of the Low.
In 2006, NewMusicWest had over 40 A&R reps from labels such as Sony, Universal, EMI, and many more from Canada, the US, and around the world. With 5 nights, 25 venues, and 200+ bands, there's new talent just waiting to be discovered.
This year marks the 16th year of NewMusicWest - an event that has had past keynote address by artist such as Matthew Good, Chad Kroeger, Marilyn Manson, Raine Maida, Gene Simmons as well as Terry McBride (Nettwerk) and Jason Miller (HOB).
