Summary

The 2008 New York Book Festival takes place on Saturday, June 21 in Central Park near the Naumberg Bandshell and Bethesda Foundation, a lush setting in the heart of one of the greatest urban wilderness areas in America.

Last year, over 20,000 attendees turned out for a fun day in the park to celebrate books worthy of further attention in the publishing capital of the world.  The New York Book Festival features live music, vendors,  clowns, face-painting, author readings, food  and more.

Artists who submit must be able to perform acoustic or semi-acoustic to appear on the main stage. A table for post-performance CD and merchandise sales will be provided, as will a full PA/sound system and sound engineer.

The event is produced by JM Northern Media, which also produces the DIY Music Festival and Hollywood Book Festival Festival. Acts that do well at this event can also be considered for those opportunities.

Come spend a great day in the park in support of literacy!
