Summary

Niles Bluegrass Festival (not only bluegrass) is a free festival on the banks of the St. Joe River in South West Michigan, 90 miles east of Chicago IL, in Niles, MI (USA). The fest is open to the public and is held in one of the most scenic parks, the Niles Riverfront Park.

It happens the first weekend in June, June 4-7, 2009 and every Sunday after that until Labor Day. All types of acoustic music and Americana are welcome to perform. There are two separate stages with an emerging artist stage; they are looking for around 20 artists to perform this year. They have a small budget, but allow all artists to sell merchandise and they have a large audience. Compensation may be available, depending on the artist.

The venue is fabulous and every one eats well. Many artist return because of the quality of the event. Last year had about 10,000 people in attendance and the festival has been around for 7 years.
