Summary

Noise Pop is San Francisco’s premiere celebration of independent music, film and art since 1993. Now in its 17th year the festival attracts over 20,000 independent music fans and scores of bands each year to San Francisco. Over 150 alternative bands will play Noise Pop 2009 - situations vary from opening up for headlining acts to playing other Noise Pop events, and pay varies depending on the situation. This year, there is at least one performance slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist. The selected artist will be paid $500.

This year's festival is February 24 - March 1, 2009 and will take place in various venues around the city (including The Bottom Of The Hill, Bimbo's, and Great American Music Hall). In addition to the music festival, Noise Pop also includes a film festival, gallery art shows, a craft fair and a music industry conference.

Noise Pop has hosted the most influential artists of our time including The White Stripes, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Jimmy Eat World, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, Bright Eyes, Wolfmother, Spoon, The Magnetic Fields, and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco to name a few. Confirmed headliners for 2009 include Antony and the Johnsons, AC Newman and No Age with more to be announced soon.
