REMOTE: International Independent Music Video Awards

The IIMVA recognizes outstanding music videos from around the world by unsigned artists and independent label artists in all genres. The IIMVA is a juried competition with jurors in both the film/video production and music industries. 

All genres of music are encouraged to apply. Must have a video that was released in 2020.  

Any independent artist, video producer, or label can submit a video. Jurors nominate up to 20 videos in each category to advance to the award stage. Each category has up to 4 honorable mentions and one winner. One overall winner is selected from across all categories for the “Independent Music Video of the Year” and one video is voted "Fan Favorite of the Year". There is a top prize of up to $250 USD for both Video of the Year and Fan Favorite of the Year!

The IIMVAs are open for submissions from February 1, 2021 through April 30, 2021. First-round voting and fan-favorite voting take place in June with nominees announced mid-May and final judging in June. The show is recorded in July and streams August 1, 2021. Finalists and winners will be revealed during the show. Submissions can be any genre as well as special categories for lyric and animated videos. There will be no live video category this year due to COVID-19. All videos must have been released between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. The nominating committee reviews all submissions and selects up to 25 videos for each category (some videos may be selected for more than one category).

Please note there is a $10 application fee per video entered. Videos may be considered for more than one category. There is no additional fee for additional category consideration for the same video.

Genres for which awards will be presented: Alternative, Americana/Folk, Classical, Country, Electronic/Dance, Hip Hop, Jazz, Metal/Hardcore, Pop, R&B/Soul, Rock, Singer/Songwriter, Lyric Video, Animated Video

• All nominees receive digital assets to use for promotion and may request an official nominee certificate. All category winners and category fan favorites receive a physical award (trophy). The Video of the Year and the Fan Favorite Video of the Year receive a physical award and cash prize. Up to 300 artists will be nominated for an award. Up to 75 nominees will advance to the final round. 30 category winners (best in category and category fan favorite) will be named as well as overall Fan Favorite and Video of the Year Awards.
