Summary

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to the Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival, which will again bring great music, fun, food and drink for the whole family to downtown Syracuse. Last yearÂ’s debut produced three days of the finest jazz performances possible, over 1,250 guided tastings and over 15,000 total attendees. At least four Sonicbids artists are guaranteed to perform, and each band will receive $400. /n/nCNY Jazz will be taking submissions for bands until June 1 for this free urban event, a part of Syracuse Artsweek. Opportunities exist on four stages: Main Stage, Mardis Gras Pavilion, World Beat Pavilion, and Blue Rain ECOfest stage (non-jazz eclectic lineup). See schedule for all time slots. Main stage slots are one hour, all others are multiple sets of 45 minutes alternating with main stage. The widest variety of styles will be considered. This is not an event for jazz purists - it seeks to widen the audience for all styles of music that celebrate the art of improvisation in all forms. A minimum of 4 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform at the festival.

The event also features a wine festival that benefits the American Red Cross, and an ecologically-themed stage. Performers are all invited to late night jam sessions at Jazz Central, our downtown theater. Fees include lodging and hospitality.

Headliners are secured but have not yet been announced at this writing. Past artists include Chuck Mangione, Bad Plus, Gerald Albright, NOMO, The Element, Kevin Eubanks, etc.
