Summary
North West Festival is back in 2013! Town of Port Hedland and Sunset Events are proud to present the aptly named festival in Port Hedland this August.
Together with WAM, Sunset Events will be holding a competition open to all Pilbara based bands in search for the Best of the North West! Three artists will be picked to play in the finals. This is open to any solo artists, duos and bands who perform original music and reside in the Pilbara Region.
From there, a panel of industry judges will listen to all submissions and select the finalists who will battle it out in a live competition at the Matt Dann Cultural Centre on Thursday, Aug 22. The winner will be determined on the night and will open North West Festival! Not only that, theyll be able to perform to new faces, hang out backstage and be financially rewarded for their performance. Runners up in this competition will receive tickets to the festival.
The winner chosen will get to open the festival with the likes of Paul Kelly, Bernard Fanning, 360, The Black Seeds, Bluejuice, Abbe May and Vance Joy.
Last year's artists included the Hilltop Hoods, The Living End, The Cat Empire, Regurgitator, Dead Letter Circus and San Cisco.
North West Festival will be held at the Port Hedland Turf Club on Saturday, 24th August 2013.
