North West Festival 2012

Town of Port Hedland, BHP Bilton and Sunset Events are proud to present for the first time ever, the North West Festival in the heart of the North West Pilbara Region of WA.

The aptly named North West Festival will take place at the McGregor Street Reserve in Port Hedland on Saturday 18th August 2012.

Together with WAM, Sunset Events will be holding a competition open to all Pilbara based bands, four will be picked to play in the finals. This is open to any solo artists, duos and bands who perform original music and reside in the Pilbara Region. From there, a panel of industry judges will listen to all submissions and select four finalists who will battle it out in a live competition at the Matt Dann Cultural Centre on Friday 17th August. The winner will be determined on the night and will open the first ever North West Festival the very next day. Not only that, they’ll be able to perform to new faces, hang out backstage and be financially rewarded for their performance.

The winner chosen will get to open the festival with the likes of the Hilltop Hoods, The Living End, The Cat Empire, Regurgitator, Dead Letter Circus and San Cisco. Runners up in this competition will receive tickets to the festival.
