Notes From Thee Real Underground - a revolutionary concept in the music business! The concept is simple - give hard-working bands a chance. There are many noteworthy bands from all across the country that are working hard to reach the next level of success. Hundreds of them contact us - Invisible Records - looking for a break and a chance to prove their worth to the rest of the world. We are providing that opportunity - NFTRU!

NFTRU is a compilation CD comprised of the best unknown bands from across the country and across the globe. By putting all these artists together on one release we form an instant network of underground bands who are all working hard to further their own careers. With every release, that network grows and is available to all the bands involved with the compilations, both old and new. Each band is provided with the contacts of every other band involved.

We are looking for submissions from bands in Rock/Industrial/Electronica/Pop-Punk/Alt Country/Alternative/Drum & Bass/DJ/Ambient genres. From there, the top 15-25 bands will be chosen to be on the Notes 2-disc compilation. Bands that do not make it on the CD are still a part of the program and can of course apply again for the next comp. There are 10 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. 1,000 copies will be pressed and distributed through Ryko Distribution.

One band will be signed to Invisible and given a weeks worth of recording time at the Mattress Factory Studio with producer Martin Atkins. In addition, bands will be eligible for consideration as an opener for Pigface on their next tour. Some of the other benefits we’re offering artists are: a free copy of Martin Atkins' new book on the business of touring; 15 promotional copies of the finished compilation CD; 25 posters; national distribution of the CD through Ryko Distribution; national radio promotion campaign to 300+ stations across the U.S.; publicity and press exposure through independent publicist; inclusion in solicitations for placements (games, movies, television, etc); reduced prices for Underground Inc. services (t-shirts, seminars, Martin's upcoming text book); and possible inclusion in tours, remix albums, tribute albums, tour cds, etc. All bands will, of course, also receive contact information for all past, current, and future NFTRU artists.
