Pat DiNizio of the seminal 80's band The Smithereens presents an amazing Halloween concert band contest at the historical Irving Plaza in New York City on Friday, October 29th, in conjunction with The First Annual New York Metro Alternative Film and Music Festival.
Bands featured at the Irving Plaza concert are THE SMITHEREENS, GLENN
TILBROOK (from SQUEEZE) & THE FLUFFERS, MARSHALL CRENSHAW and GRAHAM PARKER, all on one bill. The Grand Prize winning band or artist gets to
open the concert at Irving Plaza in NYC for all of these great pop artists. The winner also receives a complete band equipment set-up courtesy of Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Fishman, Seymour Duncan, D'addario, Shure, & Guitar Center, as well as a band studio demo recording produced by the legendary record producer Don Dixon (REM, Smithereens) and a run of 1000 free CDs courtesy of Discmakers - with no strings attached. All genres - solo artists and bands - are accepted.
