Summary

Molded after the famous "Writers in the Round" nights at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe, the NYSC began as the brainchild of Ken Gorka, Manager and Booking agent for the Bitter End. The Bitter End is on 147 Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village between Thompson & La Guardia. Shows are held the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.

The concept is simple: songwriters in the spotlight, sharing their songs in an intimate, unplugged format and, equally important, sharing the responsibility of filling the seats in the club. This year the Circle proudly celebrates the 14th anniversary of a series Billboard has hailed as, "One of the best showcases for original music in New York City."

Our shows have been attended by VIPS from every major label as well as affiliates BMI, ASCAP and SESAC who host their shows once a year at the Circle.

Artists who have come out of the Circle:

Norah Jones, Jessie Harris, Vanessa Carlton, Nellie McKay, and
Gavin DeGraw

Genres accepted: most genres however acoustic is preferred.
