Summary

The Ontario Council of Folk Festivals (OCFF) annual conference provides 25 showcase 30-minute spots for artists or groups interested in touring the festival circuit in Ontario and beyond. Ontario represents the largest regional festival circuit in North America. Showcases are open to artists internationally and programming is extremely diverse and can include folk, roots, traditional, world, jazz, adult alternative, Cajun, Acadian, Francophone, Aboriginal, contemporary, alternative country, singer/songwriter, blues, bluegrass, electronica, urban, spoken word, children’s and more. Canadian artists (officially showcasing) may be eligible to apply to FACTOR and/or the Canada Council for the Arts for travel support. Showcasing artists receive a small honorarium and complimentary registration on the day of their performance. There is also a showcasing artist registration rate ($75 CAD), providing full access all weekend long.



The OCFF event is the largest conference of its kind in Canada and is dedicated to discussion, exchange, networking and fun with festival organizers, presenters, agents, managers, organizations, fundraisers, musicians, artistic directors, media representatives and many others who contribute to the health and vitality of the folk, roots and traditional music community.


The 19th annual Ontario Folk Industry Conference will be held October 13 - 16, 2005 in Kingston, Ontario at the Ambassador Conference Hotel. Speakers, seminars, roundtable discussions, informal meetings, performer showcases and the best jam sessions outside of the festival circuit make this conference an essential and inspiring experience for attendees.
