On Thursday February 14 2008, The Legendary El Mocambo in Toronto will become the setting for a very unique and necessary event to raise awareness and funds for the leading human rights organization in the world. With celebrity hosts, major media coverage, and an expected sold out crowd, the Open Hearts event will unite the masses to stand up and speak out against the most corrupt and suppressive regimes of the world that repeatedly violate the basic mandates of human rights.

Open Eyes productions has been operating since 2006 and have been partners with Amnesty International for 3 years since 2004. They have won awards, gathered a member list of over 5000 members worldwide for their "Open Eyes" endeavour, and will now reunite with Amnesty to present an event both very necessary and very opportunistic for band's ready to take their music to the next level.

Open Eyes are looking for 2, possibly 3, bands who are establishing themselves as artists with unique styles and sounds, and using their music as a driving force to express their opinions and have their voices heard over the noise. They look to heroes like John Lennon, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, and if these are some artists you have been influenced by, chances are you know what Open Eyes are looking for.

The event will be taking place in Toronto, Canada, but ther focus will be on great bands, wherever they may live on the continent of North America. Looking forward to hearing from you, and keeping the fire of what's good and just alive and roaring.
