Orange Night Live is a new program at Syracuse University, located in Syracuse, NY, that focuses on the performing arts. Programs will be offered free of charge to students on Friday and Saturday Nights during the Spring 2008 semester at the Schine Student Center and include music, comedy, poetry and dance.

The Schine Student Center is located on the North Campus, and offers three venues available for artists to perform in: The Jabberwocky Cafe (capacity of 60), the Panasci Lounge (250), and the Underground (400). Bookings at The Underground are very limited.

In addition to these on campus concerts, Syracuse books entertainment for school events including the Women in Music Concert, BBQ Festival, National months - Black History Month, etc.

Comedy and spoken word acts are encouraged to submit as well. A group of students help in the booking process and will make the final decisions. The public is welcome to attend events, but events are mostly targeted to students. Artists are booked 4 - 6 weeks prior to the event date, and Syracuse tends to book 5-10 artists per semester.

Headliners typically are asked to play for 50 minutes. Compensation is given based on what the artist and venue can comply with, and is a negotiable guarantee often ranging from $300-$1,000. Travel and lodging may be available if requested by the artist. Syracuse will provide the stage and PA system.

Past performers include prominent up and coming artists Toby Lightman and JIvy , among others.
