The Oshawa Jazz and Blues Festival has established itself as one of the premier summer events in the Durham Region of Ontario, Canada. The festival features the best of Canadian Jazz and Blues performers, local artisans, children’s entertainment, food vendors, and much more. The 2007 Oshawa Jazz and Blues Festival is being held in various locations across Oshawa from August 6th to 12th, 2007.

Throughout the festival there will be more than 100 Jazz and Blues performances by 20 acts in various venues across the City of Oshawa. Last year’s festival attendance was 10,000+ over the course of the week!

Genres accepted include Jazz and/or Blues music only, including Latin Jazz and other infused styles. Rock and Pop acts will not be considered. Submissions are being accepted for the Main Stage but will also be considered for opening slots at the ticketed events and recommended to the official festival venues that book their own acts. Durham Region artists will be considered for the side stage. Selected artists will be compensated for their performance – this is based on negotiations with individual performers. Artists playing the side stage will not be compensated. You must specify your performance fees with your submission.

Past performers include Downchild Blues Band, Jeff Healey & His Jazz Wizards, Sophie Milman, Jaymz Bee's Jazz Babes, Heather Bambrick and the Jazz Divas, Jack De Keyzer, and Carlos Del Junco.

The Festival boasts a variety of community and corporate sponsors, including the Downtown Action Committee, the City of Oshawa, Kitchen Kitchen Simeson McFarlane, RBC, Bell, Durham Radio Group, Rogers Wireless, Rogers Cable, Purdy's Chocolates, CIBC Taunton & Wilson Banking Centre, BMW and many more!

Please note: Artists residing outside of Canada may apply but should understand they will be paid in Canadian dollars and that transportation and lodging will not be available. Canadian artists will be considered first and foremost for the Oshawa Jazz and Blues Festival.
