Summary

The 5th Edition of the Annual Pan African International Film & Music Festival is to be held April 23rd to April 27, 2008, in Cannes, France



This event is a gathering of filmmakers, artists, designers and musicians that celebrates the fine art of film and music from the African Diaspora. With over 8,000 in attendance in previous years over the 5 day period, this year is proved to be even bigger.



There are 5 showcase slots available exclusively for Sonicbids artists.



The significant world-class music component of the festival, which takes place on April 23, 2008 (Opening day) and April 27, 2008 (Closing day), is designed to showcase original music vision and artistic wizardry of talented individuals and groups from all across the globe.



Selected performers will receive partial travel expenses in the amount of 500 Euros provided that they reside at least 1,000 km or further from Cannes, paid upon proof of travel arrangements to France. Lodging for the artists will be provided for 2 nights, and artists in attendance will be featured on the 5th Anniversary Celebration CD.



Participating in the Pan African International Film & Music Festival will provide artists with exposure to film and music and film industry professionals who have the ability, connections and influence to help jump start any artistÂ’s career.



Past performers have had their music featured in several films and top documentaries.



The music showcase part of the festival is for emerging, up-and-coming, unsigned performing artists and bands. Vocal performers may be a solo, duo, trio, quartet or an ensemble. Genres accepted include everything from rock to pop, jazz to country, hip-hop, R&B, Latin, blues, folk to world and more.
