Summary

The 10th Annual Pentastic Hot Jazz Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, and had over 7,000 people in attendance last year. We try to offer something for every taste and the music styles we present range from Traditional Dixieland, Big Band Swing, Western Swing, and Zydeco, to Gospel on Sunday morning. We are located in Penticton, British Columbia, at the South end of Okanagan Lake. This 90 mile long lake is in a beautiful valley known for its excellent wine and very pleasant weather, particularly during Festival time. The Pentastic Hot Jazz Festival always takes place during the three days starting the first Friday after Labour Day. This year it will be held from September 7-9, 2007.

We have 5 excellent venues (all non-smoking, 3 wheelchair accessible) and usually book 12-14 bands for our Festival. We offer free shuttle buses between all venues, and to and from our sponsoring accommodators. The City of Penticton offers free parking passes for festival-goers who choose to use their own transportation.

We have one slot reserved for Sonicbids artists and offer compensation based on the going festival rates.

In addition, we pay for band travel and accommodations in nice lodging, and provide artist goodie bags. A shuttle is offered to all bands and we offer one drink per set for performers. Traditionally, we have a jam session both before the festival starts and after our closing ceremonies. There is, of course, a free-pour for band members at both of these events. We have been highly complimented for our professionalism and attitude toward performers.
