Philadelphia Film and Music Festival 2010

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to the Philadelphia Film and Music Festival, or "Philly F/M Fest," which is a four-day event consisting of over forty participating music and film venues. It will feature a wide variety of regional, national and international musicians and filmmakers. The fest is looking to book over 400 bands for the entirety of the celebration. At least 60 Sonicbids bands are guaranteed to perform and will be compensated. /n/nThe First Annual Philadelphia Film and Music Festival or "Philly F/M Fest,' is a four-day event, consisting of over forty participating music and film venues and will feature a wide variety of regional, national and international musicians and filmmakers. The fest is looking to book over 400 bands for the entirety of the celebration. At least 60 Sonicbids bands are guaranteed to perform.

Selected artists will be compensated a negotiable amount. The festival encourages a wide array of genres, so there's a little bit for everyone.

The event will combine screenings with live performances; present an improvised film scoring series, screen music shorts and documentaries presented by their subject-artists. We will also curate a local music video expo which will incorporate the city’s rich musical landscape and screen outdoor films in unique settings. Additional components include a trade/exhibitor event and many free day parties. Philly F/M looks to establish itself as one of the premiere music and film festivals for the East Coast market.

Philly F/M Fest seeks to merge the mediums of independent film and music in new and exciting ways. Instead of segregating them to different venues, the festival will combine both the aural and visual in dynamic settings. They feel this will engage and foster new audiences for both mediums.

Venues involved: Johnny Brenda’s, Kungfoo Necktie, Northstar Bar, M Room, Khyber, World Café Live, Starlight Ballroom, Trocodero, The Balconey, Tritone, The Fire, Millcreek Tavern, The Blockley Pourhouse, El Bar, Murph’s Bar, Connie’s Ric Rac, Milkcrate Café, Yards Brewery, 2424 Studios, The Piazza at Schmidts, Silk City and Media.
