PLAY: Basement Cafe (CAN) Winter

The Basement Cafe concert series is held in the basement of the historic Harriston Carnegie Library. We feature the best new music in Ontario and give a platform to artists in a relaxed environment for music enthusiasts to enjoy the live concert series. We're currently looking for awesome bands to play throughout the winter season. With a dedicated local following, this is a great way to build your reputation in and play with other great bands.

This is an ongoing opportunity to play for a crowd of music enthusiasts that come to discover new music from Ontario artists. This is an amazing opportunity to get active in a super progressive music scene and start building a fan base and relationships with one of the best venues in town. Held in the basement of the Harriston Public Library, these concerts offer an opportunity for the audience to experience an up close and personal performance from top-notch Canadian and local up-and-coming musicians, and likewise, gives performers a venue to really communicate with an enthusiastic and attentive crowd.

The concert series provides a platform for a diverse selection of musical genres including blues, jazz, folk, country and rock, but we're open to all genres if it's good music.

Over the past 10 years, this concert event has featured wonderful Canadian performers such as James Gordon, Ian Tamblyn, Richard Knechtel, Juanita Wilkins, Katherine Wheatley, and Wendell Ferguson to name just a few.

This is an amazing opportunity for local and nationally touring artists. If you have an amazing sound and looking to gain a wider audience, this is the gig for you!

Bands must be actively playing shows 

Bands must be willing to heavily promote the show if chosen to play

Bands are able to sell merch on-site

All acts applying must meet the criteria that we look for, lyrics, stage presence, style and artists must have a fanbase

Acts must have a solid online presence 

Our budget is a maximum of $600 

Audience size is generally 40-70 people.

The gig takes place at the historic Harriston Carnegie Library
