Summary
Free Your Tatas is an annual event to raise awareness and empower those affected by breast cancer in the central Texas area.
The day portion, from 3-6 pm, will include information on breast health and breast cancer awareness, info on self-care, spirituality exercises, information from leaders in the Austin health community, storytelling, counselors, free hugs, and a visit from the big pink bus. The event will include live bands, vendor market, wellness tent, resource tables/Information and more! This is a great opportunity for acts to get involved with a great community program raising awareness for breast cancer, but also an opportunity to meet amazing artists and people.
The Opportunity
Free Your Tatas will take place at Kenny Dorham's Backyard. This venue is a Diverse outdoor music venue, located in the heart of Austin's East End. Named for the legendary jazz trumpeter and East Austinite, the event takes place completely outside on 1.5 acres in Historical East Austin. There are food trucks on site. This event will host vendors, educators, speakers and of course live music. We're looking for local, regional and touring acts, however, we're very eager to book from Austin who are already involved in the local music and art scene.
The Band
- We're looking for bands of all genres to play: Singer-Songwriters, Soul, Latin, Pop, R&B, Acoustic, Folk, Country, Jazz, Rock, Blues bands, and everything in between.
- Must have live show experience
- Must be willing to promote
- Bands are able to sell merch on-site
- Acts must have a solid online presence
- Acts applying must be passionate about the cause of this event and help spread awareness throughout the community
The Gig

The venue will provide microphones, PA, monitors, DI boxes, drum set, and a 16-channel audio board. Guitar amps and additional equipment
instruments must be provided by the performers. - All ages are welcome, but be warned: some boobs may be closer than they appear!
