PLAY: Open at Knitting Factory (NYC) - Jan

CEG Presents Gangstagrass at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on January 17th. 

We're offering a great support opportunity to a band who has established a fan base in NYC, and is looking to build upon that by supporting a nationally touring band.

This is a 40 min support slot. Compensation is offered, based on market history.

A blend of Bluegrass and Hip-Hop may seem like an odd pairing but it blends seamlessly to create a twangy beat that has gone mainstream earning music placement in the hit show Justified with Timothy Olyphant.  According to Rolling Stone, "Gangstagrass fuses string instruments with hip-hop artists, resulting in arguably the best argument yet for a rap and country music marriage."

Knitting Factory is a mainstay in the indie music scene with a dedicated local following and nation-wide prestige.  Located in the bumping neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, both local and touring bands look forward to a night on a the Knitting Factory stage. 

• We're looking for Hip Hop with a live band (no backing tracks, no rap for this one), Bluegrass, Folk, Americana, or Neo-Soul.  Your sound will need to mesh well with Gangstagrass, please check them out before applying! 
• Bands must have an established fan base in NYC and must be able to actively promote the show to their fans. 
• All ages welcome to apply!
