Nestled in heart of the Arts District of Downtown LA, Resident, is a hybrid bar, beer garden and music venue that pays homage the vibrant community, creating a destination for the best in craft cocktails, beer and live music. Resident evokes the spirit of the East Austin, Texas beer garden culture, accented with a high-end cocktail and beer program and thoughtfully curated music experience. A haven for the community, RESIDENT is a reprieve from the urban grit of Downtown, a destination that embraces the foundation of the evolving neighborhood. We're currently looking for Sonicbid artists to play this summer and early fall season.
The Opportunity
Purchased in 2000, the three-story building has long been a haven for the artist's enclave, acting as a reprieve from the urban grit of Downtown Los Angeles. Resident strives to be a haven for those looking for a casual and familiar place to spend time with friends and make new ones in Downtown Los Angeles, providing a curated experience from the music programming, to the drinks menu to the daily food trucks inside the beer garden. This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the eclectic and progressive Downtown LA music scene and build a local following. Local, regional and touring artists are all welcome to apply.
The Band
- Bands must have live show history and a following in the LA area family
- We're looking Rock, Indie Jazz, Folk, Acoustic, R&B, Electronic, Experimental, Blues and Soul acts, but we're open to all genres if it's good music
- We also book DJ's
Bands must be actively playing shows
Bands must be willing to heavily promote the show if chosen to play
Bands are able to sell merch on-site
All acts applying must meet the criteria that we look for, lyrics, stage presence, style and artists must have a fanbase
Acts must have a solid online presence
The Gig
Resident is a multi-use space, with a 210 capacity music venue and bar with a 300 capacity outdoor beer garden
- Set Length: 45 mins
- General backline and PA will be provided
- Bands will receive a percentage of door sales
- Bands get drink tickets
- Bands must draw a minimum of 25+
