Summary

The Middle East is an American entertainment complex consisting of five adjacent dining and live music venues in the Central Square area of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Its three dedicated concert spaces, Upstairs, Downstairs, and Sonia sit alongside ZuZu and The Corner, two restaurants that also host live music. Having featured a huge variety of musicians since 1987, The Middle East is the staple of the Cambridge music scene and has no plans on stopping anytime soon. We're currently looking for acts to play this winter and spring. 

The Opportunity

The Middle East is the premier Boston/Cambridge destination to hear the best live music and enjoy amazing food and drinks. In the early 1990s, The Middle East quickly became an instrumental part of the music culture in the Boston area. It's where new talent was quickly discovered and given voice. It was where established bands tried out new things on their audience. 

The Middle East receives continuous awards from local newspapers for our food and music venues. If you're an emerging or established band, this is a huge opportunity to play the most iconic venues in the Boston area. There are multiple availabilities throughout the fall/winter and our intention is to create musical bills with similar acts to ensure a great night of live music.

The Band

  • Looking for bands of all Rock, Soul, Blues, Reggae, Acoustic, Pop, Hip-Hop, World and Alternative bands 
  • We're open to any and all music genres
  • Looking for local, regional and national acts
  • Must be able to draw well in the Cambridge/Boston area
  • Preferably looking for bands that play original music 
  • Bands must be actively playing shows 
  • Acts must have a solid online presence 
  • Bands must be willing to heavily promote the show if chosen to play
