PLAY: Turnpike Revue (KS)

The TURNPIKE REVUE is a battle of the band series taking place throughout KS. We'll be doing a 5 part battles of the band's concert series stretching across the wide plains of Kansas, following the I-35 corridor from Wichita to Kansas City. 

We're featuring up to 5 regional artists per performance, competing for a chance to perform on-stage at the first annual HALFWAY TO EVERYWHERE FEST on August 31st, 2019 in downtown Emporia, Kansas.

The battle of the bands will be held weekly on Saturdays starting January 12th, 2019 and going through February 9th. We're are looking for the hottest up and coming bands from all over the Midwest. If you have a great sound, a strong fan base and want to rep your town or city, this is the gig for you!

This is your opportunity of a lifetime for bands all over KS to have a platform to showcase your music to a wide audience. The TURNPIKE REVUE and HALFWAY TO EVERYWHERE FEST are produced exclusively by KANSAS FREE FOR ARTS (KFA). The KFA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Kansans through advocacy for wellness, education and stimulating arts culture. This is a great opportunity for local, regional up and coming acts to get more visibility. Apply now and get your voice heard in KS!

We're looking for EVERY style of music. Everything from Rock, Indie, Hip Hop, R&B, Punk, Pop, Spoken Word to Reggae, we want it all!

All acts applying must meet the criteria that we look for, lyrics, stage presence, style and artists must have a fanbase

Acts must have a solid online presence

Bands promote the show and bring a crowd

Open to bands all over the midwest, however as this is a Kansas festival, special consideration will be given to bands from KS 

Competitions will be held at the following venues (in order): 

Barleycorn's- Wichita, KS
the Copper Top- Emporia, KS
J&J's Brew Pub- Topeka, KS
the Bottleneck- Lawrence, KS
Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club- Kansas City, MO

 The goal of H2E fest is to produce Kansas' premier music and arts festival.

This is a non paid gig, however, all funds collected through the production of the TURNPIKE REVUE go to help fund this monumental event.

All acts accepted to compete will be assigned to the competition venue nearest to their home location.

 Bands will be limited to compete at only one of the five competitions. Winners of each competition will be featured in a showcase at the Bourbon Cowboy in Emporia on Saturday, February 23rd in addition to being a featured artist on the H2E 2019 lineup.
