Summary

The sixth annual Plymouth Folk and Blues Festival will take place at the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont this Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, 2009. The concerts, which feature 7 total performers, will team nationally-known stars with Vermont and regionally known musicians. The 2009 event was named a "Top 10 Fall Event" by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce.

The concerts are free; donation is suggested. The concerts will be held, rain or shine.

Plymouth Folk and Blues Concerts are looking for submissions from acoustic acts (solo performers or a band with up to three people) to fill out their line-up for this year's festival. 2 spots are reserved for Sonicbids artists.

Last year's event drew 400-500 fans. Artists will be paid $250 for their performances, along with private room and board, for non-local acts.

Plymouth Folk was listed in 2006 by the Boston Globe online as the top event in all of New England for Labor Day Weekend. Past performers include Jay Ottaway, Erin Sax, Rebecca Hall, Ken Anderson and Alastair Moock.

Singer-songwriter Craig Bickhardt who was selected to perform in 2008 had this to say: "The Plymouth Folk and Blues Concerts is simply one of the most beautiful venue settings and best run events I've ever performed at. The site is ideal for both the performer and audience due to the peaceful surroundings, easy access, ample parking, and even the indoor acoustical properties of the old wooden buildings. Jay Ottaway and his crew were totally professional, courteous and helpful in every way. I really look forward to returning to perform at this event in years to come."
